I’m making the most of the summer to get out and talk to people in the local community. Me and my team have organised a range of pop-up Streatham MP surgeries across the constituency to support people and businesses in our area towards the end of August and start of September.
On Windrush Day, Streatham celebrates the generation of migrants who came over from the Commonwealth after the war to help rebuild Britain.
At the start of this week, MPs had a chance to vote on an action plan to address the cladding scandal. Since the Grenfell tragedy in 2017, Ministers have promised to take action to get dangerous cladding off buildings no less than fifteen times.
From the donations we’ve received to my Laptops for Learning fundraiser, we’ve now managed to provide 37 Chromebooks to school children in the local area. Thank you for your generosity.
Getting a test is quick, easy, free and COVID-secure. I got tested on Friday and received my results in under an hour.
Yesterday, I delivered ten tablets to (my old primary school) as part of my ongoing efforts to get devices to the most disadvantaged students in our community and address the digital divide locally.
