It was good to welcome our Labour Mayor Sadiq Khan to Brixton Hill this week to pay a visit to Our GreenHut, a fantastic site for community gathering and growth housed on the grounds of Brixton Windmill. It was great to see the positive impact that free school meals funding is having. Our GreenHut is also having a major impact on young adults and families with programmes that promotes learning and skills development for school and careers.

The number of children facing food poverty almost doubled in the last year. Sadiq’s decision to extend Free School Meals to all primary school children shows what Labour can do in power. It is a great policy to ease the burden of soaring living costs for families and ensure no child is left hungry in the classroom.
