I’m making the most of the summer to get out and talk to people in the local community. Me and my team have organised a range of pop-up Streatham MP surgeries across the constituency to support people and businesses in our area towards the end of August and start of September.

On Windrush Day, Streatham celebrates the generation of migrants who came over from the Commonwealth after the war to help rebuild Britain.
Meeting with Chestnut Nursery
Early years education is vital to children’s development and I am saddened by reports of the unfortunate circumstances the childcare sector is currently in. The coronavirus pandemic has shown how vital access to Early Years education. The pandemic has also exposed the damaged financial health of many providers after years of underfunding.
End Our Cladding Scandal
At the start of this week, MPs had a chance to vote on an action plan to address the cladding scandal. Since the Grenfell tragedy in 2017, Ministers have promised to take action to get dangerous cladding off buildings no less than fifteen times.
Update on Laptops for Learning
From the donations we’ve received to my Laptops for Learning fundraiser, we’ve now managed to provide 37 Chromebooks to school children in the local area. Thank you for your generosity.
