I joined local Remembrance Day events in Brixton and Streatham to remember all those killed in conflict and reflect on the horrors of war. With violence ravaging Gaza, the Congo, Sudan, Yemen, and beyond, this year’s events took on renewed significance. We might rightly question whether humanity has learned the lessons of two world wars. The ongoing loss of life in these conflicts, particularly among civilian populations, emphasises the need to strive for a more peaceful world.
