I’m making the most of the summer to get out and talk to people in the local community. Me and my team have organised a range of pop-up Streatham MP surgeries across the constituency to support people and businesses in our area towards the end of August and start of September.
Woodmansterne Secondary are putting nutrition on the school menu in an innovative and interesting way through their Chef Collaboration programme, bringing in top professionals to make school lunches.
This week, I joined local campaigners to oppose the sell-off of Streatham GP surgeries to American healthcare giant Centene.
This weekend, I visited the Streatham Library pop-up vaccine clinic organised by Valley Road surgery, where it was good to see some familiar faces, including brilliant volunteer David, who I met a month ago or so when I visited the Baldry Gardens clinic.
This weekend, I paid a visit to the South London Islamic Centre to see their pop-up vaccine clinic in action. It’s absolutely essential that we maximise vaccine uptake across our community so it was great to see people from different faiths coming together to get their first dose.
From the donations we’ve received to my Laptops for Learning fundraiser, we’ve now managed to provide 37 Chromebooks to school children in the local area. Thank you for your generosity.
