Bell stood outside City Heights Academy with school staff and employees from the 'Becoming A Man' programme.

It was really good to be back with City Heights Academy to see their Becoming A Man programme in action. This programme helps young men to navigate the challenges of growing up in our area. In the words of the Mental Health Foundation, who run the programme:

“BAM is about offering a space for young men to come together and discuss issues in their lives – issues at school, at home, in the park, or on their estate. It’s about helping young boys become men, to decide the values that will help them contribute to society. It’s about supporting these young boys to make decisions about their lives and values, to help them get to where they want to be in 20 years.”

Mental Health FOundation

Every child needs access to school counselling and mental health support. This is something that was in the last Labour manifesto and must remain a priority for any future Labour Government.
