If you’re in debt, you’re not alone. Together Against Debt is a grassroots campaign whose mission is to amplify the national voice of debtors to engage with and put pressure on the decision-makers who currently wield power over them. Having piloted a scheme in Greater Manchester, they’re now rolling out their model of community organising in South London.

The pandemic has only sharpened the UK’s problem with debt. I was pleased to support their campaign them by helping them to host a roundtable with local organisations and individuals affected by debt.

They’re currently running a national survey of debtors to establish how the pandemic has affected people’s personal debt levels and shape their policy asks.
