I met with the British Liver Trust to hear more about why they are calling for a full review of adult liver services. Deaths from liver disease are four times higher in deprived areas. 90% of liver disease is preventable but three quarters of current diagnoses are coming too late for effective treatment. These statistics highlight the urgent need to level up liver care by improving screening and making early diagnosis routine.
