In a classroom, young students in blue uniforms sit around a table, with Bell sitting at the front of the classroom. One student has a hand raised, participating in the discussion. Behind Bell, a screen displays a bright pink slide, and the room includes a whiteboard, bulletin board with yellow decorations, and green containers on a shelf.

It was fantastic to meet with Jubilee Primary’s School Council to talk about the role of an MP in celebration of UK Parliament Week 2025. Helping young constituents to understand the power they have as citizens is one of the best bits of my job. UK Parliament Week is a national initiative that helps young people to learn about democracy, representation and their role in shaping society. Pupils asked brilliant and thoughtful questions. They are currently running their own ballot on attendance rewards, giving them hands-on experience of voting and the democratic process.
