A large group of students in matching gray blazers with red trim sit on the floor of a gym or assembly hall. At the front, three students are seated next to one another on chairs, a few metres away from from Bell, who wears a black blazer and an orange skirt. One student speaks into a microphone. A large blue letter “A” is painted on the white brick wall behind them.

It was fantastic to meet with student leadership representatives at City Heights Academy as part of UK Parliament Week 2025. They asked me impressive and wide-ranging questions covering everything from the economy to migration, mental health, the cost of living, Brexit, careers, the climate emergency, and how young people can use their voices to influence change. It was inspiring to see students exploring leadership and understanding how politics affects their lives and future.
