I spoke during a Parliamentary statement on Israel’s aid site killings of starving Palestinians, making it clear that history will not look kindly on those who perpetuated a genocide or those who assisted them. 32 Palestinians were gunned down at Israeli-run aid sites on Sunday 1st June as they came to receive food.
Instead of providing starving Palestinians with food, Israeli troops are opening fire on them at aid sites on a daily basis. Casualties are arriving in hospital with gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Israel has cut off UNRWA, the one aid agency capable of delivering support, hijacked Gaza’s aid network and turned it into another weapon to carry out its genocide.
Once again, I asked the government to clarify what their red lines are and how many more Palestinians have to die before they act. The “serious disagreement” and criticism of Israel’s “conduct” expressed by the minister are not sentiments befitting a genocide. As a bare minimum, the UK needs to stop providing military support, impose sanctions and recognise a Palestinian state.
