On Tuesday, I reiterated my call for Thames Water to be placed into special administration, an insolvency process designed to ensure continuity of critical services (like water) whilst dealing with financial issues. In their attempts to stop the company returning to public hands, Thames Water’s creditors now want permission to pollute for the next 15 years. This sorry saga cannot go on. It’s time to put customers first, end the uncertainty, and take the company back into public ownership.
