Streatham vaccine

This weekend, I paid a visit to the South London Islamic Centre to see their pop-up vaccine clinic in action. It’s absolutely essential that we maximise vaccine uptake across our community so it was great to see people from different faiths coming together to get their first dose. Every single shot of the vaccine takes us closer to getting back to something resembling normality.

This weekend’s clinic was brilliantly organised by Edith Cavell surgery, who managed to get more than 240 people vaccinated in the space of a few hours. The speed and success of our vaccination programme across the UK is a reminder of what we can achieve when we put the NHS in charge of big projects and provide it with the funding it needs to deliver them. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the local volunteers, council staff and NHS workers who have been driving the successful Streatham vaccine rollout.

If you were contacted about the vaccine and missed out, don’t worry! You can rebook your vaccine appointment now. Just book online or call 119.
