It was great to be on the picket line at Lambeth College with UCU members pushing for a better deal for further education staff. Further education has long been neglected, with staff seeing some of the worst pay cuts in the education sector. Staff at Lambeth College walked out for three days this month to demand action on pay, unmanageable workloads and collective bargaining. After 42 days of action, I am pleased to report that the strikers received an acceptable offer, calling off further strikes.
