I visited Ghana to meet with a range of leaders and organisations from civil society, diplomatic circles and Ghanaian politics. A particular highlight was attending the inauguration ceremony of Ghana’s new President John Mahama and first female Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang. This followed a decisive victory for the National Democratic Party, Labour’s sister party in December’s elections. I look forwards to our governments working together to advance our countries’ common interests.

It was a pleasure to attend the GLITZ Africa SHE Boss networking brunch in Accra, where I had the honour of speaking amongst some amazing women and hearing some engaging conversations about working to tackle gender inequality in business and beyond.

I joined the GUBA Diaspora Network dinner and conference. GUBA stands for Grow, Unite, Build Africa and for the last 15 years, they have run an awards ceremony recognising work to advance the global African diaspora and communities on the African continent.
I joined the British-Ghanaian Lawyers Union (BGLU) Networking dinner. The BGLU connects lawyers from the UK and Ghana with a focus on cross-border business opportunities and fostering racial equality in the legal sector.
I had a fantastic time at the Afro Brit Creator Conference: a celebration of creativity, business innovation and African entrepreneurship, led by the amazing Chanel Boateng and produced by Camel Group Global.

It was an honour to be received by the Ga Mantse and Ga traditional council following the recent visit to Parliament by HRM King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II. As you can see, they put on a royal welcome!

I met with Ghana’s youngest MP, Eric Edem Agbana, and attended a thanksgiving service for the Honourable Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, new Speaker of the House of Ghana.

I had an amazing time at the British High Commission to Ghana’s annual Diaspora mixer with Kate Osamor MP. The theme this year was connecting capitals London to Accra. It was great to see British and Ghanaian businesses showcased like PayAngel Cacao Clothing, Eato Network, Yendy Skin and Remoteli. It was good to celebrate the British-Ghanaian diaspora, which continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening the cultural and economic ties between our nations.
