In a Westminster Hall Debate on the role of big tech in our society, I raised concerns in Parliament about our growing dependency on Palantir across public services and echoed calls to terminate its NHS contract. Palantir is a US spy tech company owned by Trump donor, Peter Thiel. It contracts for ICE and the IDF and now holds 34 UK Government contracts across 10 Departments (that we know of). These are worth at least £900 million and include the NHS Federated Data Platform.

We know that Palantir’s now has access identifiable patient data, which means the US authorities could also access this if they decided to. I will continue to shine a light on the company’s operations and push for public services that are run in the public interest, not for the profit of predatory big tech companies.
