On the second annual Windrush Day, Streatham MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy has called on the Government to secure justice for the Windrush Generation.
This afternoon, Bell Ribeiro-Addy joined Labour colleagues to take to one knee outside Parliament in a show of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter protest movement.
Along with other Labour MPs, Bell has written to Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government, urging him to take action to prevent an evictions and rental debt crisis in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I stand with striking medical couriers at The Doctors’ Laboratory. Workers should not be punished for raising workplace health and safety issues or asking for better conditions. “
On Thank A Teacher Day, Bell Ribeiro-Addy has thanked teaching staff in Streatham and across the UK, expressing solidarity and support in the face of calls from government and media outlets for workers to return to schools.
Streatham MP Bell-Ribeiro-Addy has led a backbench effort to throw out the Immigration Bill, putting down a reasoned amendment alongside Caroline Lucas, Diane Abbott, John McDonnell, Richard Burgon and Dawn Butler.
