I’m making the most of the summer to get out and talk to people in the local community. Me and my team have organised a range of pop-up Streatham MP surgeries across the constituency to support people and businesses in our area towards the end of August and start of September.
Our community has been deeply disturbed by the abduction of Sarah Everard. In response to Sarah’s disappearance, thousands of women planned to hold a peaceful, socially distanced vigil in Clapham Common Park to remember her and the thousands of women who have been victims of male violence.
From the donations we’ve received to my Laptops for Learning fundraiser, we’ve now managed to provide 37 Chromebooks to school children in the local area. Thank you for your generosity.
Getting a test is quick, easy, free and COVID-secure. I got tested on Friday and received my results in under an hour.
I paid a visit to Clapham Common homelessness hub Ace of Spaces to discuss the challenges they’re preparing for over the coming winter.
I’m calling on Streatham businesses and residents with any spare laptops, iPads and tablets to donate these to local children who are struggling to get access to remote learning.
