I’ve been supporting the campaign to protect Brixton Village and Market Row. I was delighted to hear that organisers successfully submitted a competitive counter-bid to bring the market under community ownership. Huge congratulations to the organisers and all those who have supported this initiative.

I remain concerned about the prospect of a private equity buyout, which would see local traders facing the threat of higher rents and evictions. Buy Back Brixton is about making sure the people who built this community aren’t priced out of it. If you haven’t already, please consider signing the petition.
