The United Friends and Families Campaign (UFFC) has held an annual remembrance procession from Trafalgar Square to Downing Street since 1999 to remember all those who have died in state custody. In October, I joined the UFFC march for justice for the thousands of families who have lost loved ones in this way. 1,906 people have died in police custody or following contact with the police since 1990 in England and Wales. Just one of these killings has resulted in a conviction, with many families not getting the answers they need about how their loved ones died.
