I spoke during the Third Reading of the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill debate. In response to recent comments from the prime minister, I argued that immigration is not the crisis. What we are facing is a crisis in how we treat people, value rights and understand our responsibilities to one another. I also spoke in favour of my New Clause 37 amendment, tabled ahead of the debate, which aimed to stop children being priced out of citizenship.
