Dear *|FNAME|*,
This week, I was drawn for a question to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. I used it to highlight the recent African Union Assembly session, which brought together heads of state from across the continent, as well as the Caribbean to discuss the issue of reparations. I pointed out that discussions on reparations will continue to happen, whether we are part of them or not. As the balance of global power shifts, this issue is not going away. I urged the UK government to listen and start to play a constructive role in addressing our country’s legacy of slavery and colonialism.
