As schools returned from Easter Break, the government took a vital step toward ending classroom hunger. The pilot of free breakfast clubs at hundreds of UK primary schools, including St Helen’s Roman Catholic Primary in Brixton, means many kids in London will now enjoy a healthy free breakfast as well as a healthy free lunch. Altogether, 180,000 kids across the UK will benefit from this pilot scheme, saving families an average of £450 a year. This is a fantastic initiative, which will boost family finances and children’s life chances.
